It's been another long wait for this blog post - and it's again because not a lot has happened. We are still waiting for planning permission, and our decision date has been set for May 4th which is this coming Bank Holiday Monday - so I hope all those at the planning office have a great bank holiday at work processing our application! Well, to be fair, they've had six weeks!
I've been doing what I can in between other non-garage jobs and made a significant breakthrough, quite literally, today.

Well, I sorted it out and now the above scene has been replicated in our conservatory. We plan to sell, scrap or donate everything possible. Anyway, now it looks something like this after just removing the last piece of plastic flooring:
With this area clear I thought I could knock down the partition wall that stands to the left (off image) of the images above. This is what it was looking light as I just started to take a few bits out of it:
By about 30 minutes later it was all clear:
The photo above was taken a couple of metres from the front end, which might help to imagine the feel of the space. Removing the wall made a big difference - its much easier to picture this area of the garage to be the communal space it will become.
The other things I have been doing it to organise and pack up the sanded wood planks reclaimed for the pallets. I've done this mainly for ease of handling to help with storing the wood for the time being - it won't be used for several weeks:

Now tucked away in the shed..
That's all for now. Let's see what our planning decision brings on Monday.
